

Resurrecting in a Restoration Bay will inflict a small time penalty on Mission difficulty 3. These are 100, 200 and 65 health units (of maximum 255), respectively.

Resurrected player will have 39% of health on Levels 1 and 2, 78% of health on Levels R and 3 to 6, but only 25% on Level 7. However, both Cortex Reavers and Diego Cyborg in the Remake will completely ignore Restoration Bays if the Hacker is killed in one of these boss fights it's an instant game over. In System Shock (Remake) the Hacker will instead be sent to the nearest functioning Restoration Bay, and will only suffer a game over if no Restoration Bays are available. In the original System Shock the Hacker will always (barring a glitch) be sent to the Restoration Bay or Conversion Chamber on the same floor as he died.

The reset lever is usually close to the chamber, but not always, most notably on the Research Level. However, if the Hacker is able to find the reset lever, the Chamber will default back to a normal Restoration Bay, and if the Hacker is killed afterward SHODAN's unaware minions will inadvertently resurrect the Hacker good as new. if the Hacker is killed, SHODAN's minions will drag him to the nearest Chamber to outfit him in a Cortex Reaver, resulting in a game over. The Wall blocks all physical objects, including enemies and their projectiles. This Power summons a Wall of Psionic force on the same height as and directly in front of the player. At the start of the game, each Restoration Bay is under SHODAN's control as a Cyborg Conversion Chamber. Metacreative Barrier or Psi Barrier is a Tier Five defensive Psionic Power in System Shock 2.
